Engineering, a NELSON company, is currently seeking a licensed Electrical
Engineer in Philadelphia, PA. This is an exciting opportunity for
someone who wants to accelerate their career path and assist in developing
our engineering presence in Philadelphia. The Electrical Engineer will
provide the local management of engineering projects and be responsible to
oversee the preparation of complete and comprehensive engineering
construction drawings and specifications, coordinating the documents with project
consultants and contractors. This position will assist in all aspects of
projects they are assigned to including coordinating the scheduling,
budgeting, staffing, and reporting activities of the project. Responsibilities: ·
Attend meetings with clients, consultants,
contractors and vendors as required ·
Participate in all construction phase
activities ·
Establish and adhere to project goals and
objectives including but not limited to schedule and budget parameters ·
Conduct existing conditions surveys and
prepare engineering floor plans, sections, elevations and details as
appropriate to document relevant conditions ·
Review applicable building codes and develop a
list of criteria to be reflected in the design documents ·
Assist the design team by researching products
and systems that accomplish the design intent ·
Oversee preparation of construction documents
including, but not limited to: demolition plans; floor plans; ceiling plans;
telephone/electric/data plans; details plans; sections and elevations; and
construction specifications for all materials and products selected and
documented by NELSON. Participate in documentation preparation as
appropriate. ·
Review both NELSON and consultant documents to
ensure consistency with both NELSON project and quality standards, accomplish
the design intent, and code compliance ·
Prepare bidding documents, general conditions
and supplemental conditions that are part of the contract documents ·
Prepare and issue addenda as required ·
Establish and maintain the shop drawing/sample
submission log during the construction phase ·
Review and process all shop drawing/sample
submissions and consult with senior managers as appropriate, to ensure that
the design intent is being maintained ·
Prepare and issue responses to
contractor’s request for information ·
Prepare and issue bulletin and change order
documentation ·
Participate in job site meetings and
construction observation activities as required ·
Participate in the punch list process Qualifications: ·
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering ·
Minimum 6 - 10 years’ experience in
the Engineering profession ·
Working knowledge of AutoCAD software, Revit
software experience highly desired ·
Experience with MS Office Applications (Word,
Excel, PowerPoint), and project management software ·
Basic knowledge of building codes,
comprehensive knowledge of engineering detailing and construction
methodology, as well as a strong understanding of design and documentation
principals, professional practice and standards. ·
Ability to review and coordinate engineering
documentation and the work of other disciplines to assess compliance with the
design concept ·
